Welcome to Classics & Cheese, where I give my opinion on books, movies, television, and whatever else I feel compelled to write about.

Calendars
I've added a Genre History Timeline page as of 3-16-2011 (still under construction) and a Literary Timeline page as of 3-04-2011 (also still under construction) as a way to put classic works in perspective of their place of historical time and significance.

A page devoted figures and important events with genre-related works.

Some of you may be here to see pictures of my newly repainted den, and after months of promises, here it is!
Before Pictures and After Pictures

My local community center for the arts has chosen Mark Twain'sThe Adventures of Tom Sawyer as the 2010 National Endowment For The Arts Big Read.
The St. Louis Library District chose Ray Bradbury's Fahrenheit 451 as 2006's book for "The Big Read".

This wonderful novel tells the story of fireman Guy Montag, in a future where a fireman's sole responsibility is to burn books and the places that house them. It is an eye-opening story of censorship, societal fears, and ultimately, personal sacrifice.

This should be required reading for everyone on the planet.

Look at the title. How could I NOT buy this CD?

Actually, I like classical music and this CD is perfect for peaceful background music while reading.

Two crappy essays I wrote for online publication. These are so old, and of such poor quality, I really should take them down. Don't say you haven't been warned.
